Wow it's been so long since I've posted anything on deviantart. I was looking through my gallery and found myself... kinda ashamed of anime-past. I dont really consider myself that strong of an anime artist anymore. I guess I'm just trying to be more original and independent as an artist now.
ANYWAYY...
Its spring break, and I haven't drawn anything in a LOONNGGG while. So I decided to paint a picture of David Archuleta on photoshop today. I've been watching american idol this season and I'm rooting for him. I guess its because he's the most likable and relatable contestant for me.

I;m happy that I was able to finish this all in one sitting (about 6 hours!), but I'm not too happy with the way it turned out. I don't really think it QUITE looks like him. ugh. Shapes and proportions. Drawing recognizable people can be sooo hard on your ego, because if you dont draw it right, its quite obvious and it ends up looking nothing like the person you wanted to draw. I always end up messing someone's face up when I try to draw people. so sad.

well, practice makes perfect. Hopefully I'll find time to draw some more. I kind of want to try drawing Brooke White and David Cook. They're also some of my favorite contestants.

If you havent been watching American Idol this season, you should! ALLLL the contestants are really good!

which is why theres a HUGE signature. I know that people on dA understand that art theft is BAD but I'm not sure the people on americanidol.com know that, and watermarking it with my name seemed a bit too pretentious, so I just added an extra large signature. haha.
